Weekend Wrap Up

I hope this post finds you well rested after a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Ours has been anything but calm, but I really wouldn't have it any other way! I love being able to spend time with my family and friends when they are in town for the holiday.

{warning picture overload!}

Thursday morning started off with the
Flying Feather 4 miler in Dublin
Myself, Bri and Ashley
It must have been the cold weather because I ran the race in 9:52 minute/miles... something that I never thought I could do! I had previously run a 10:20 miles in my 1/2' s but it could have been the fact that it was only 4 miles, or the fact that it was just brisk, windy, and COLD that gave me a little pep in my step to finish the race!
The reward for running the race, a bottle of wine
After the race we raced over to Justin's cousin's house for our first thanksgiving, and then we rushed back over to my grandma's house. Luckily I was able to drop off of this cheese ball after the race for my family to enjoy {because it was long devoured prior to us arriving}
which was inspired by none other than pinterest
{these just seemed like a LOT of cheese ball for not a lot of cracker - so I just made on large cheese ball}
Friday night I had my 10 year class reunion. I had been helping plan the event for the past year, and it was nice to have it come to fruition and catch up with my classmates. Unfortunately there were not as many students who were able to make it as we wished, but there were about 40 out of our class of 500+ students.
Did you go to your class reunion?
Do you find that Facebook has made it less intriguing to go to your reunion?

Our high school principal came to the reunion as well. The world needs more people like Mr. McCann. He is one of those people who can find the good in anyone. He has since retired since we graduated, but it was so nice for him to come.
Saturday we stayed around town and watched our beloved buckeyes put up a fight against the team from up north. In the end unfortunately we did not come out victorious.. but we had other big news coming our way today with the announcement of Urban Meyer coming to coach OSU next year!

Saturday night we drove down to Cincinnati to see our best friends who were in town from Boston.
Sunday morning we woke up to a rainy forecast and tickets to the Browns/Bengals game. I was BEYOND thankful that I had purchased a pair of hunter boots prior to making the trip down 71.
We headed down to the game in the rain
Although the Brown's lost, we still had a great day hanging out with all of our friends

So that was our weekend in a nutshell! We are so fortunate that we were able to spend this holiday weekend with so many of our family and friends.

Hope your weekend was as fun as ours!

Are you ready for some football????

Growing up in Columbus, Ohio I did what every rebellious child would do and routed for
that team up north Michigan
yes, I know I'll admit it
I watched one ESPN story on the Fab Five back in the early 90's and I donned the colors maize and blue for quite a few years
I also liked the Bengals....

...And then I finally I had a little sense knocked into me and realized I should be cheering for my beloved Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns!

On Saturday its all about
the BUCKEYES

I watch college game day religiously {maybe part of it is because I like Kirk Herbestreit}

We rock the scarlet and gray and adorn buckeye necklaces

We yell OH just to anticipating the response of someone else yelling IO

We dot the "i" in script Ohio

We brave the chilly weather for the later games
We tailgate before, during and after the game
and hopefully we cheer on the team to a victory

Trust me, being an OSU fan hasn't been easy in the past year. I will continue to stand by my team, and I'm hoping we can pick ourselves back up after last year! I'm ready to cheer on my buckeyes this year, and I will always support my team!

and on Sundays
its all about the BROWNS
and my fantasy football players
{please don't mind the dueces that I'm throwing up in this picture... I would like to think I have matured since then}

Head on over to Lindsey's blog and check out what other fellow bloggers LOVE about football and their traditions

It is less than 1 month away until kick off!
So excited for the fall to be here to root on my favorite teams!

So What Wednesdays....

I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day, and you were able to take time out of your busy day and reflect on all of our armed forces who are serving currently and those who have previously served to make the United States what it is today. I am very proud and fortunate to have family members who have fought for our country, and not just yesterday but every day I am proud of them!

Thank you to everyone in our armed forces!

I will hopefully have a recap up of our memorial day weekend before the end of the week!

Until then.. I am saying
"So what" to the following things

...If I road back from Cleveland Monday [a 2 hour car ride] with my right arm out the window, and my left arm positioned right underneath the sunroof.. i was missing out on valuable sun and I needed to make sure that I got a little sun this weekend

...If Stacey, Ryan, Justin and I went through a slide show of all of our cruise pictures again this weekend, it made me want to go back on vacation immediately

...If this weekend is my MOST favorite weekend of the summer! The memorial tournament is here. I have passes for Sunday, and I can't wait!!

...If I called my parents to share the news about Jimmy T leaving OSU, and when my dad answered, I said "have you heard the news?" and his response was "yes, I know Luke Donald is the #1 golfer in the world" ha! Needless to say he was a little more shocked when I told him about Tressel's resignation

....If I'm indifferent about Jim Tressel leaving OSU. Yes, I am very sad that he is leaving, and it had to go down the way he did, because I truly believe deep down inside that he is a good man, he just got himself stuck in a situation of lies, however, I also think it will be good to start fresh next year. [and to also be able to go for it on 4th and 1]

...If I follow @oldmansearch on twitter. It is a kid who has linked his dad's google account up with twitter and he googles the most RANDOM stuff ever. Justin and I play a game to see who can get to his latest tweets the fastest! [ex. of tweets - recipe for one porkchop, famous whales, eggs give me a headache.... ] go follow him, i know you want to! ha!

...If during the summer and Justin plays softball 3 nights a week, I rarely cook. Its hard when he is sponsored by 2 local pizza shops, and sometimes they go after they play and other weeks they don't. There is nothing that I hate more than throwing away food...

...If i have watched this video probably 198722 times, and shown it off about 198721 times of Molly. Its hilarious, her dad and her are carrying on a conversation about her not being able to kiss boys until she is 22 years old!

...If these are the longest, "so what" responses ever!

So what are you saying
"so what" to on this abbreviated work week?

Weekend Recap and DIY

This weekend was a lot of fun! The buckeyes played Ohio University [where Justin and ALL of his friends went to school] so we had to go down to the game. We all went to River Watch to tailgate and had a blast. the weather surely did not feel like the middle of september!

Justin and I
I guess when J went up to get a drink at the tailgate the guy told him that he needed to make up his mind... referring to who he should cheer for - either OU OR OSU... not both!

Jess, Amanda and myself
a shout out to Jess who is a loyal reader to my blog - I love it!!!!
the whole group
just the girls
during the game
so it was really nice and SUNNY
and I asked Justin during the game if I had a tan line from my shirt
[i tan very easily - and I had put sunblock on my face to protect it and so I wouldn't have racoon eyes - however i didn't really think it would be that bad anywhere else - boy was I wrong]
look at these tan lines on my arms and neck....
wahhhhh [<---- as snooki would say]

Saturday night we left the game and went to Roosters for some delicious food [seeing a pattern here????] - and then a few of us came home to watch the ND vs Michigan State game and play board games. We played Apples to Apples and Loaded Questions... so much fun! i think a few times during the game I was crying because I was laughing so hard!

Sunday morning, Jess, Jimmy, Justin and myself [i feel like i should have a J name too! ha] went to breakfast and then they headed back to Dayton.

Over the weekend Jess and I were talking about cute halloween decorations that she had seen - and she mentioned the cute wreaths at Target... so naturally I had to go and see what she was talking about. I found this wreath that i loved, but a price tag of $20 that I wasn't so crazy about...
so Jaci and I decided to head on over to Michaels and look at things to make it for cheaper - and I'm pretty sure we were successful
Styrofoam Wreath - $4.40
Boa - $6.70 [$10.99w/a 40% off coupon]
Paper Clips - Free
Green Balls - $3.99
Total - $15.09
wrap your boa around the strofoam wreath and attach with paper clips [unfold the paper clips and cut in half - you will have two U shapes
and then add decorations - I used the the green small xmas balls - but i'm sure you could just add a bow or silver skulls - or whatever you might be interested in!

So thats our weekend recap - football - more football and DIYs.. Try not to be too jealous! ha!

I hope ya'll had a wonderful weekend too!

Also, just a reminder - you only have until noon on Monday to register for the give-a-way!

Just a little recap

Yesterday was a big day for the OSU buckeyes - we played #12 Miami in the horseshoe

We headed down to campus for the day

This is how I watched the game - on a big screen at the Varsity Club [prior to the rain].. and then we went to roosters for much cheaper drinks and to stay dry
and this is how justin watched the game... lucky guy
It was an awesome game to watch - I am glad our defense showed up to play... I think after this game we have proved that we deserve to be #2 in the country! Bring on the bobcats next week!

and.....

I meant to post this yesterday but happy birthday to one of my besties...

Stacey!

last year in Boston

We were so excited that my camera was working again
this past summer at her parents house around a bonfire

I hope you have a wonderful birthday in NYC and that you enjoyed your day - because you certainly deserved it!!!

We're off to play golf and then back here to watch some football!

Let's go Brownies!! [and aaron rogers and the rest of my fantasy team :)]

Top 2 Tuesday - Favorite Things about the Fall

I'm liking this being at home on a Monday writing about my Top 2 Tuesday topics..
I am loving the idea of 4 day work weeks [and I have 3 in a row starting this week!]

This weeks topic for T2T is:

Things I like Most about Fall

1. I love the changing of the temperatures... the leaves changing colors, the crisp cool air, sleeping with the windows open.... ahhh - i can't wait [we had a little tease last week and this weekend and it has been beyond lovely].
2. Football [i'm sure this shocks you!]
We all know that I love my buckeyes

but I can't leave out my Cleveland Clowns Browns
and because they have been so bad for the past few years I figure I might as well try out Fantasy Football as well so that I have something to look forward to on Sundays

And my runner ups have to be pumpkin spice candles, carving pumpkins [and eating the pumpkin seeds] and apple picking [i'm keeping justin to his promise that he will go with me this year - i've only been asking for 4 years now.. ha!], and the Ryder Cup in October.

but I will be honest with you... my favorite part about the fall is that it leads up to Christmas, and that is honestly my favorite time of the year!

What are your favorite things about the fall?

Now head on over to Taylor's blog and link up.... Happy Labor Day!

I changed out the golf tees to buckeyes in my candle sticks on the mantle

with all of this being done, it must mean one thing.....
