Friday Brain Dump

{1.}
Herbie 2.0

Please meet the newest member to my life
Herbie 2.0
My dad and I set on quite a quest a few weeks ago and it felt as if I sat in every car this side of the Mississippi within my price range
trying to figure out what kind of car I wanted
I didn't find anything that I LOVED
{perhaps I should tell you that i LOVED my last car, who's name was Herbie, and I cried when the tow truck was coming to take him away}
So I settled for another Passat, just a few years newer
and we are slowly but surely becoming accustomed to one another

My dad sent me an email with pictures of my car saying Herbie.2
From there I decided to call the car Herbie 2.0
And then once the car was delivered my dad quickly pointed out to me that the back of the car even had 2.0 on the back...
And at that moment - Herbie 2.0 was named for sure!
{2.}
My Christmas tree is still up
So sue me... its January 6th... I will take it down this weekend
{while listening to Christmas music.. it makes it a little less painful}

{3.}
Molly is turning 2 in a little over a week
Seriously.. time has flown!
{4.}
Santa left me a Chocolate Peppermint Stick Luna Bar
and I may have bought out Kroger in the rest of their stock
If you like thin mints.. i recommend you walk RUN to your closest grocery store and buy them out of this product as well!
SO GOOD!
{5.}
Hunter Boot Liners
I'm confused about them
Do you wear them once and wash them such as a sock?
Or do you just not worry about washing them such as the inside of an UGG boot?
Any suggestions?

Happy Friday!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend

Weekend Wrap Up

I hope this post finds you well rested after a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Ours has been anything but calm, but I really wouldn't have it any other way! I love being able to spend time with my family and friends when they are in town for the holiday.

{warning picture overload!}

Thursday morning started off with the
Flying Feather 4 miler in Dublin
Myself, Bri and Ashley
It must have been the cold weather because I ran the race in 9:52 minute/miles... something that I never thought I could do! I had previously run a 10:20 miles in my 1/2' s but it could have been the fact that it was only 4 miles, or the fact that it was just brisk, windy, and COLD that gave me a little pep in my step to finish the race!
The reward for running the race, a bottle of wine
After the race we raced over to Justin's cousin's house for our first thanksgiving, and then we rushed back over to my grandma's house. Luckily I was able to drop off of this cheese ball after the race for my family to enjoy {because it was long devoured prior to us arriving}
which was inspired by none other than pinterest
{these just seemed like a LOT of cheese ball for not a lot of cracker - so I just made on large cheese ball}
Friday night I had my 10 year class reunion. I had been helping plan the event for the past year, and it was nice to have it come to fruition and catch up with my classmates. Unfortunately there were not as many students who were able to make it as we wished, but there were about 40 out of our class of 500+ students.
Did you go to your class reunion?
Do you find that Facebook has made it less intriguing to go to your reunion?

Our high school principal came to the reunion as well. The world needs more people like Mr. McCann. He is one of those people who can find the good in anyone. He has since retired since we graduated, but it was so nice for him to come.
Saturday we stayed around town and watched our beloved buckeyes put up a fight against the team from up north. In the end unfortunately we did not come out victorious.. but we had other big news coming our way today with the announcement of Urban Meyer coming to coach OSU next year!

Saturday night we drove down to Cincinnati to see our best friends who were in town from Boston.
Sunday morning we woke up to a rainy forecast and tickets to the Browns/Bengals game. I was BEYOND thankful that I had purchased a pair of hunter boots prior to making the trip down 71.
We headed down to the game in the rain
Although the Brown's lost, we still had a great day hanging out with all of our friends

So that was our weekend in a nutshell! We are so fortunate that we were able to spend this holiday weekend with so many of our family and friends.

Hope your weekend was as fun as ours!

The adventures of Hunter Boots

It's pretty much a well known fact that I would LOOOOOVE a pair of these...via

well what you may or may not know about me, is that I have rather large, i mean HUGE calves, which prevents me from getting many of cute boots that I would LOVE to have!

Seriously - it was a struggle to slim my legs down just to get them into a pair of tall Uggs... [and thats just meaning my leg inside the ugg - there is NO room, i repeat, NO ROOM, left over for me to try and get a pair of skinny jeans inside there as well!]

So i'm not so sure why I thought wellies/my hunter boots would be any different...

well i'm hear to tell you it was different.. but in a MUCH worse way!

Jess and I went to Von Maur on Saturday on a quest to set out and find a pair of Hunters for both of us. I picked up the navy pair and tried them on for size...

First off the 9 was HUGE on me [go down a size for future reference]

I put on what i thought were the 8's [thanks mr. salesman for bringing me the 7's] which I could barely get on my foot.. better yet i could not get them off of my foot

As i am trying to pry these bad boys off of me, i start to have a minor panic attack, and I start sweating [really though, i sweat a LOT, like i swear God got me confused with a man when he gave me sweat glands!] in the middle of von maur! [classy i know]

via

So now my leg starts to sweat, because i'm trying them on with just footies, and lets be honest, a tight rubber boot, bare skin and sweat, are not mixing!

Another sales associate came over to talk to me and Jess about the wellies, and thats when we noticed that I had on a 7 rather than an 8.

we send homeboy [our original sales man into the back to pull the correct size for us] while the new lady sales associate continued to tell us about the Hunters. She informed us that they are made to create a suction when they go onto your leg, to prevent water from getting in [no shit - pretty sure this is what i'm experiencing] [and to her point they are supposed to be rain boots]

So cue round #3 of trying to get these darn boots off of me! A little better outcome than the size 7, however still the same, suction, sweating, embarrassment!

I finally got the boot off, after struggling for about 5 minutes [I'm sure it wasn't that long, but it sure as heck seemed like it was!] and decided to walk away from the boots, because surely I was not going to go through all the struggles on a daily basis for a pair of wellies!

So needless to say, my adventures in Hunter boot shopping was not as successful as I had hoped it would be. But at least I now know that they don't fit and I can stop fantasizing over them!

Now if anyone knows any good exercises to decrease the size of HUGE calves I will gladly listen :)
