Christmas Decorations
I took me a while to get the urge to decorate my entire condo for the holidays - which is surprising because normally I'm the first one to pitch the pumpkins after Halloween and and bring out the teal and green for Christmas - but this year was a little different!
My entire house Christmas or not - is decorated in an artichoke green, sea glass, and teal - so my Xmas decorations also are in that color scheme - which seemed like a GREAT idea my first Christmas in my condo - but it has proven to be more and more difficult to find holiday decorations sans red! So its a work in progress...

although the stockings aren't functional they are my favorite decorations. they were my great grandpa's actual socks that my great great grandma made for him because he had polio. i found the J and L from Restoration Hardware - and added them to complete our stockings - they may not be Pottery Barn but to me - I love the meaning behind them!
and then in my little window in my kitchen I found this at homegoods - and I love it for the little cut out

and just to prove that I had a difficult time throwing away my pumpkins this year - this is what my porch looked like this morning! thank goodness today is trash day!Happy Wednesday!

Show Us Your Life - Guest Bedroom

First off, thanks again to Lauren from Blue Lux for the blog makeover - I'm still LOVING it! and I love how it gives my blog a whole new feel!
This week on Kelly's Korner is
Show Us Your Life - Guest Bedroom
[I apologize for all of my loyal readers - I know this is about the 10th time that I have shown this room!]
This is walking in the room. The wall color is Asparagus by Behr. It was VERY bright at first with nothing in the room, but once we added a lot of white and black to the room it became much more tolerable.
[some of these pictures are old and others are new... you will be able to see based off of the empty picture frames and added pieces to the shelf above the bed - its still a work in progress]
I asked a while back for any suggestions on what to put in the picture frames... I didn't want pictures of friends [no offense], we wanted something black, white and pretty neutral, and Justin and I really haven't traveled to too many places together to have scenery pictures... but my sister came up with the best idea of all - to put scrapbook paper in the frames. This is something that I can change out at any time, however for right now, I think i like them they way they are

the bedding is from HomeGoods and the pillows are from Target [the polka dotted one] and the front one is from Kohl's
the two end tables and shelf are from Ikea
speaking of the shelf - it is certainly a work in progress! I try to pick up black and white items when I see them and I am out... much easier said than done! i thought it would be an easy project that would quickly be complete after a trip or 2 to HobLob [boy was I wrong!]
and the tv....
So thats a tour of our guest bedroom. Justin and I are very fortunate to have so many friends come and stay with us... some days I feel like I should run a hotel out of this room.... and I love it!
Now head on over to Kelly's Korner and check out other bloggers guest bedrooms!

Top 2 Tuesday - Places in your home
2 favorite places in your home
We have lived in our condo for over 3 years now and we are just now getting around to decorating every room.. yes its taken that long - the basement just wasn't an area that i found a necessity to be decorated
Over Labor Day weekend Justin and I went and picked out this couch for the basement. We have the worlds tightest corner to get down in the basement - so it was necessary to find something that broke down into sections... and we both fell in love with this couch
its huge, and we can shove the ottoman in the corner and it becomes a queen sized bedthe past few weekends we have brought the tv from the bedroom and placed it on the book shelf and so we can watch 2 football games at one time... who needs picture and picture when you can have side by side tvs?
clearly we need a lot of decorating work to be done in this room!tv console - mounted or tv stand?
pillows [i'm hoping black and white...which could totally change!]
wall decor [hopefully buckeyes/browns/49ers/blue jackets]
perhaps a corner bar?
so many decisions!!!!
trust me - ya'll will know when I make a decision on what to do - or with any updates!
my other favorite room in my house that is almost fully decorated is my spare bedroom
i love how simple it has been decorated - and because everything is decorated in black and white, and the only thing in the room that is green is the walls - if i ever want to change the color of the room i just need a new paint color!
i stole some of these pictures from a past post

What are your favorite areas in your house?
Head on over to Taylor's blog, I would love to see your house!

Welcome.....
Fall
cooler weather
Halloween Decorations
I've never really been a big Halloween person but this year I decided to decorate my house a little bit more than normal
The front door
The 1/2 bath on the first floor
The truth is I absolutely HATE candy corn - but I love the way it looks for decoration purposes - i love how it adds color places during the fall months
The mantle
TV stand
The hutch
This weekend J and I are going to a pumpkin patch! [i have been asking to do this for the past 4 years - so to say that i'm excited is a bit of an understatement] I hope to get a few things to decorate around the house. Other than that we do not have any plans.. and I'm so excited to relax, sleep in, and watch some football!
I hope ya'll have a great weekend!
