Weekend Wrap-Up

How is it Monday already?
Do you ever have weekends where its just go-go-go-go and then all of a sudden you look up and you realize its Sunday night at 10pm and your to-do list is STILL a mile long?
As much as I shake my head at my crazy day-to-day schedule, I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Saturday I had two 30th birthday parties to attend.
(nothing like realizing you are the “old” friend in the group when people are still having 30th birthday parties and you have since move on from 30 and are now the ripe age of 31.)

Both were catered with Mexican flare, one by Arepazo, a local latin restaurant, and one by Chipotle.  If you know me well enough, you know I can’t get enough rice, beans and guacamole in my life!

Love these girls!

Sunday morning, I woke up (not quite early enough) to run a 15k at a local Lifestyle Mall, Easton.  I literally arrived at 8:07 and the race started at 8.
I ran to the start line, and started running, with my arm band still in my hand, head phones around my neck and my shoes barely tied tight enough.  I get to the end of the first street to turn right, and the officer on the corner looked at me and had a short little embarrassing conversation:
Officer: Are you running in this?
L: Yes, I’m just a little tardy. (To his defense, I had on a running sweatshirt overtop of my running tank that had my bib safety pinned to it)
Officer: Okay, I’ll let them know that you are the tail
Let me tell you, I realize that there has to be a winner and someone that comes in last place in every event, and I also realize that I will never be the fastest runner at ANY event.. but I did not want to be the tail for the duration of this 15K.  That certainly motivated me to run a lot faster!
This race is the second one in this series that I have participated in.. and you can choose to run a 5K, 10K or a 15K.  Thankfully the 10 and the 15K are pretty much in line with the training schedule for the half marathon in a few weeks.   The only bad part about the race is you stay on the same course either 1, 2 or 3 times.  The WORST part about this race was running by Kate Spade.. not once, twice but THREE times and not being able to shop.  Pretty much torture if you ask me!
Since we were already at Easton, we decided to stop and have breakfast at one of my FAVORITE  local places, Northstar.  It is all organic food and absolutely delicious.  Thankfully my sister was there to cheer me on, but also take my order as I was rounding the last corner.  I mean what more could you ask for.. a sister, cheerleader and a waitress! It was a perfect way to end the morning.
The rest of the day was spent at home working on some Easter decorations/crafts/DIY stuff!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I know I certainly did!

Time to play a little catch up ........

Do you ever have those weeks that just simply FLY by because you have something going on EVERY DAY???

welcome to the month of December for me
[see those dots - each one represents at least ONE thing going on that day - phew! thats a lot of dots!]

I'm not complaining one bit - I absolutely love being busy and having plans and getting together with friends and family - which we have been doing a lot of lately!

So much that I haven't had time to update y'all on what we have been up to lately [and give you a VERY long blog post to read]!

Last Friday
We had a surprise birthday party for a family friend. It was so much fun getting together for Kris' birthday because normally we are so busy during the holidays that we don't get a chance to sit down and celebrate her! So it was a perfect night to do so

Saturday
I was all excited to go wedding dress shopping with my mom and sister and go to hobby lobby... i know big day out! well my excitement quickly diminished after the following turn of events with in the first 5 minutes out of my condo

I was driving when I heard a pop
sure enough, I look down and a button off of my coat had cracked and literally popped off - GREAT! Right off of the left chest - not an obvious place at all to be missing a button - ha!
So i'm already a little disappointed that i'm going to be walking around with a janky coat, when I turned the corner out of my complex to only have my purse fall over and I heard a thud
I instantly knew it was Bella [my iphone]
so trying to reach over to find my phone on the side of my passenger seat - i realized it was in the back seat
and lets be honest - I NEEDED MY PHONE!
so it was as far away as possible [go figure] so I decided to be smarter than my phone and use the umbrella [that i could reach] to pull my phone closer to me... so as i'm doing this I'm leaning into the backseat and my chest [i'll refrain from using the b word] hits my diet coke bringing my diet coke out of the springing cup holders and knocking the can over leaving me with an inch and a half of diet coke swimming in the cup holders [along with my mailbox key, a few gum wrappers and a sonic mint!]
thankfully HobLob always puts me in a much better mood [even 1 button down and diet cokeless!] but I did find stuff to create my tree topper! I'm loving this addition to the tree this year!

and luckily that was the last of our bad luck for that day! my sister found a perfect dress for her wedding - and it is ABSOLUTELY stunning on her!

Sunday
We went to church and then off to the outlet mall to attack some of my holiday shopping! It was a complete success!

Monday

We had our first Columbus Blogging Meet Up - SOOOO much fun! seriously!

Tuesday

If you follow me on twitter - you know that I got my hair chopped - I mean chopped. It was much shorter that I originally had anticipated but its growing on me [literally - ha!]
[sorry I hate taking pictures of myself- but just so you can see how short it is!]
and now i know why babies make the worlds funniest faces when you try and take their pictures - well HELLO bright flash [and double chin!]!
Wednesday

Molly [my friend - not baby molly - just to clarify - because I have had to on 3 different occasions this week - ha!] have had a crafting night planned for almost 2 weeks now to make our ornament wreaths. She came over I made this for dinner [yes you read that correctly - I MADE dinner!] and then we started working on our wreaths

Add your ornaments to a wire hanger one by one... I found shatterproof plastic ornaments from meijer. I also hot glued the top to the ornament itself just so they wouldn't fall off

Once you have all of your ornaments onto the wreath twist the wire hanger [i'm sure there is a name for this kind of a knot in boy scouts or something - ha!]and then hang your wreath on your door for all of your neighbors to see :)
Molly's gorgeous wreath

Thursday [last night]

We met up with our friend Jess who was in town for a teach conference and some of her friends at PF Changs at Easton. It was so much fun to meet her friends from work and just catch up [but i didn't take a picture - i didn't want to freak out my new friends too much!] but they were truly hysterical!

When we got home I needed to bake cookies for our holiday appreciation dinner tonight [easy enough - right?? well not when I'm involved!]

I made these cookies [which are delicious!] but as I was putting away the flour on the top of the fridge I heard a crack... sure enough I pushed the glass canister back too far and the knob from the cupboard went right into the full canister of flour - broken glass - flour every where.. i swear - my life!

as if that wasn't enough for a catastrophe... or my Saturday morning saga....

I tried on a new sweatshirt that I got from nike - super cute - a rhinestone block O right on the left chest [once again - refraining from the b word] well one of the rhinestones was popping off... so rather than send back my shirt - i thought I would take matter into my own hands and super glue the one itty bitty rhinestone back on... well that was a HUGE project fail! As I was squeezing the super glue - it EXPLODED all over my hands!
I soaked my hand in nail polish remover last night for a good 10 minutes but had to pull it out because I felt like I was participating in an episode of Fear Factor it hurt so badly... so I am going to try pure acetone tonight and see if it works any better!

So thank you for staying with me through this whole post - but some of the things that have happened to me over the last week - are just too funny not to share!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Just a little recap

Yesterday was a big day for the OSU buckeyes - we played #12 Miami in the horseshoe

We headed down to campus for the day

This is how I watched the game - on a big screen at the Varsity Club [prior to the rain].. and then we went to roosters for much cheaper drinks and to stay dry
and this is how justin watched the game... lucky guy
It was an awesome game to watch - I am glad our defense showed up to play... I think after this game we have proved that we deserve to be #2 in the country! Bring on the bobcats next week!

and.....

I meant to post this yesterday but happy birthday to one of my besties...

Stacey!

last year in Boston

We were so excited that my camera was working again

I hope you have a wonderful birthday in NYC and that you enjoyed your day - because you certainly deserved it!!!

We're off to play golf and then back here to watch some football!

Let's go Brownies!! [and aaron rogers and the rest of my fantasy team :)]

Weddings. Table #11. Birthday Parties Galore

So this weekend was a little busy around our house.... rehearsal dinners. weddings. and birthdays to sum it all up...
[sorry in advance for the picture overload!]

Friday night we had Ashley and Anthony's rehearsal and rehearsal dinner for their wedding. Ashley and I were sorority sisters in college and then she lived with me when she first moved down to Columbus. She and Anthony had asked me to to a reading at the wedding, which i was honored to do so. It was so nice to see a lot of my sorority sisters the day before the wedding.

Sonia and I - i'm going to miss you when you move to Cali
The next day was their wedding. Justin, Aly and I went early to the Hyatt [where the wedding was] we saw the wedding party having their pictures taken across the street of course i had to take a picture!
the bride
so it was about this time when i went into see the actual layout of the room to see where I would be saying the scripture. i looked for a bible [thinking/hoping they would have one for me to read] which I wasn't so lucky. so i figured well, i'm at a hotel, they have to have bibles for every room - i'll just go to the front desk and request one. well they had to call down to housekeeping... [justin joked that it took so long that they must have gone to Jerusalem to get me one] and once he brought one up for me... it was the New Testament bible, he told me it was the latest version and brand new... great! so i take a look at 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, however - it was not the verse that i was looking for.. so i started to panic and i went to the pastor... where he saved the day [no pun intended!].... he whipped out his phone and showed me his bible app... so I wrote down the verse on a program and rolled with it... thank goodness for technology.. next time i will know to bring my own bible!

the ceremony
after the ceremony we got a little picture happy..... somethings never change - once a sorority girl... always a sorority girl!

We had so much fun at A&A's wedding!

Today was another busy day... filled with a TON of birthdays!

We started off with Jude's first bday... I can't believe he is 1 already.

JM and the birthday boy

"trying" his cupcake smash cake
unfortunately we had to leave his bday party fairly quickly to head to my parents house to celebrate just about everyone's bdays.... srrsly - i mean EVERYONE (both of my great grandmas, millie and mollie, my sister's finace, my mom, my sister, my 2 cousins, brooke and wes) and then we celebrated fathers day with 3 of my grandparents..... I never said i had a small family... just to prove it - please look at all of these gifts AND names on the cake!

The only other picture I took was with my grandma and great grandma, along with my mom, and sister - its all 4 generations of girls... we have quiet a few of these over the past few years. i'm so happy that they are home for the next few months!

So that is my weekend in a nutshell... its no wonder why i'm exhausted at the end of this post!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend - because I know I sure have!
