All things loved in July

I cannot believe the month of July has already come and gone.
Here is a look back on a few things that I have fallen in love with this month!

1. Open Table
If you don't have this app yet - download it now!
It makes making reservations so easy.
It is similar to urban spoon that they have recommendations of local places
along with menus, and reviews.
And even better yet, after so many reservations you
get money back!

2. Smirnoff Sorbet Light
This is my new go-to summer drink.  One shot of this 78 calorie liquor in one of these Sparkling Ice drinks and you've got yourself a refreshing, low cal sweet drink.  Perfect for the pool!

3.  Garth Brooks Radio on iHeartRadio and Y2Kountry
After Garth announced that he was going to go back on tour, I decided I wanted to listen to the songs that me loving country music nearly 20 years ago.  I started listening to Garth Brooks on iHeartRadio.. and let me tell you, its the good stuff! The un-auto-tuned Taylor Swift, the days when Tim McGraw used to be enjoyable to listen to (white tee shirt days), and plenty of John Michael Montgomery and Garth to go on for days!

Then SiriusXM tested out Y2Kountry a few months ago, and finally made it a station.  I can now listen to the songs of the early 2000's in the car.

It's nice to have a new variety of songs to listen to, although I do still love me some Luke Bryan!

4. Spanx

Yes, I proudly bought my first pair this summer.. and yes, they are a game changer!
Why diet and exercise when you can wear these and they make you 2 sizes smaller?
Can we say these are a GEM in a maxi dress?
They smooth you out and suck you in.. yes please!

5. Body Buddy

I was complaining to my grandma over Memorial Day weekend that it's not easy putting sunblock on your own back.  She told me about this Body Buddy that she bought for my great grandma.

You put your lotion on the applicator and put it behind your back, and it applies the lotion evenly so you do not miss a spot.

I use it for not only sunblock but also moisturizing lotion.

Thank you Nonna for buying all of us girls one of these! They are awesome!

Weekend Recap [Times 2]

You know whats better than a weekend recap.... the past 2 weekends recap wrapped up in one blog post!

Because that's what happens when you have a crazy busy week but an even more eventful weekend!

Last weekend I was invited over to one of my friend's houses from college for a craft day. I had SO much fun getting together. On our way to the Flower Factory to pick up last minute supplies we passed a Sonic and I shared with the girls how much I was obsessed with the Route 44 Diet Coke, with easy ice in their styrofoam cup, and most of the girls we were with had never had Sonic before so on our way home we had to stop and show them what pure deliciousness tasted like!

The girls ordering

Traci and Kimmie ordering at the car hops

We made magnets for our crafts, I will blog post about them later this week [when I finish my craft - ha!] I can't wait for more craft days.

Saturday night we met up with a group of friends for the Jason Aldean and Eric Church concert. I had been looking forward to this night for a long time! Our friends Jimmy and Jess invited us to go to the concert. Unfortunately Jess was terribly ill and was not able to make it to the concert :(

All night long Jimmy was begging Lauren to show him the concert tickets.... and Lauren wouldn't let him see them until after we reached the front doors of the arena. Of course I had to make it a kodak moment
All of us in the nose bleeds
My dates for the night
Mikey, Jimmy, and Justin
J and I

The concert was amazing. Justin and I have like Eric Church for a while now and we haven't had a chance to see him in concert so I think we were both looking forward to seeing him more than Jason Aldean. However, after seeing Jason Aldean in concert we realized how amazing of a performer he really is and I now know what all the hype is about in regards to his concerts. All I have to say is that Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley need to watch out because there is an upcoming Entertainer of the Year nominee in my opinion! He put on an amazing concert.

This past weekend we got together Saturday night with some of my best friend's from college. The Arnold Classic was in town this weekend and our friends always get together and go to the show, and Justin and I watch Molly [truthfully I think we get the better end of the deal ;)] however plans changed at last minute last year as well as this year when Katie stayed home with Molly and the rest of the group went to the Arnold.

Its tradition when we all get together to revert back to our old college days and hang out in the garage [and potentially play a little flip cup and or beer pong! ], listen to music and just catch up with one another. With some of us living in Columbus, some in Lexington, Kentucky and some still in Toledo, its nice to get us all together a few times a year.

Steven's 30th bday is later this week - so we all celebrated last night
Love this kid
Please notice that Ryan is wearing an OSU hat! this is kind of a big deal!
and this picture just makes me laugh
It has been an amazing last few weekends!
Its no wonder why on Sundays I'm looking for a weekend from the weekend! ha!

I hope you all had a great weekend [or past 2 weekends] as well!

So What Wednesday....

First off thank you for all of the birthday wishes! You all are way too sweet! I really appreciate them:) I had a wonderful weekend/day!

So i begged asked Shannon to post this week for me - and she said just do it... and of course the week that I don't have a list or anything prepared I can think of a million things to "so what about..." perhaps lists aren't always the way to go!

So here's for the week what I'm saying "so what" to..

  • Up until yesterday my About Me info said I was 26... and I just updated it to be 28.
  • If i wanted to wear peep toe shoes last week when it was in the 60's so I just painted my first 2 toes, and it was all good until I went to the dr and had to take off my shoes! and she TOTALLY noticed! [no one said my dr. wasn't intelligent]
  • I have been listening to Jason Aldean and Eric Church to and from work daily to get pumped up for the concert this weekend
  • I almost like when Justin plays Call of Duty while I'm doing my 30 Day Shred in the basement - I watch the clock on the game to get me through each individual level
  • I feel so accomplished if I go to the grocery store and everything that I put on the belt is healthy!
  • I am a few days behind on the DVR-but I have no time to catch up on anything... I have 2 episodes of Modern Family, Jersey Shore, Bachelor, One Born Every Minute, Real Housewives of Miami and I'm pretty sure I won't get through either Top Chef or Modern Family tonight [and after reading Shannon's comment realized I should probably include Teen Mom 2 too!]
  • I saw a bumper sticker today that said IRL [you know the oval ones with big black letters] and my first though was "In Real Life"... eek - Blogging has taken over my global knowledge!
  • I am beyond excited to go see our friends who just had a baby last night! They waited to find out the gender [which I would never have the self control to do!] they are calling this baby Gruber 2.0 [since its their 2nd and the dad is all techy - their cat's name is reboot-ha!]
  • I'm addicted to WWF - pretty sure that its just added to my OCD'ness before I go to bed. Before I had to clear out all emails, read all fb status updates and tweets - and now i can't have any games be on my turn before I go to bed! and it doesn't help that J has the same issue and we play with one another - its no wonder I'm tired!

the boys of fall

have you heard Kenny Cheseney's newest release
the boys of fall?

every time i hear it - it reminds me that football season is just around the corner
and i just picture the small towns all across the nation
living their lives vicariously through the hometown football team

i can't wait for it to be finally be here

but until then i will just live through Kenny's new song

When I feel that chill and smell that wet cut grass

I'm back in my helmet cleats and shoulder pads
image
Standin in the huddle listenin to the call
image
Fans going crazy for the boys of fall

image

They didn't let just anybody in that club
Took every ounce of heart and sweat and blood
image
To get to wear those game day jerseys down the hall
King of the school man we're the boys of fall

Well it's turnin' to face the stars and stripes
image
It's fighting back them butterflies
It's call it in the air alright, yes sir we want the ball
image

And it's knockin heads and talkin trash
It's slinging mud and dirt and grass

image

It's I got your number, I got your back
When your backs against the wall
You mess with one man you got us all
The Boys of Fall

image

In little towns like mine it's all they got
Newspapers clippings fill the coffee shops
image
The old men will always think they know it all
image
Young girls will dream of The Boys of Fall

The boys of fall

The meaning behind the song....

Do you ever find yourself singing the words to a song... but not really listening to the meaning? or vice versa?

Brice Lee has a new song out called Love Like Crazy... and although I'm not a big fan of the actual song I love the meaning behind the chorus... I think it says so much in so few words...

Just ask him how he did it; he'll say pull up a seat
It'll only take a minute, to tell you everything
Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I Love You
Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your commonsense
Never let your prayin' knees get lazy
And love like crazy

If we all just lived our lives like this I think the world would be a MUCH better place! Do you have any songs that you love the lyrics to more than the song? What are they?
