Where were you....

I can't believe that it has been 9 years ago today that the terrorist attacks on the United States

Where were you when it happened?

I was a freshman at school at the University of Toledo
I was woken up by a fire alarm and I reluctantly had to wake up and go outside
I went outside to find another friend from my home town who told me that a plane had crashed into the world trade centers
and I just remember being upset that someone woke me up because of a fire alarm - because I had no clue what he was talking about
I went over to the fraternity house where I new a lot of the guys and I had to use the restroom [because I don't know about you - but thats a priority in the morning - and when you are rudely awaken by a fire alarm you don't really have a chance to go]
The guys were more interested in why the freshman dorm was having a fire alarm
and I just wanted to use the restroom
But after all that happened - we sat on their first floor and watched all the news coverage unfold
I remembered thinking that I wanted to come home, and just talk to my parents and I couldn't... the phone lines were all busy... school was closed for the next 3 days and now we look back and remember the 3,000+ who lost their lives on that day and give thanks for the people who continue to fight for our freedom.

I remember the day like it was yesterday, where were you the day that you got the news?

It's so hard to believe that it's been almost a decade already. No one will ever forget where they were and what they were doing on that day.
